"Billistic" - the game fishing boat
Broome is the Sailfish capital of Australia and we’ve been privileged to have operated game fishing charters in Broome for over 15 years.

Broome Billfish Charters has designed its own Game fishing boat called " Billistic". Built in Broome by Ocean Pearl Boat Builders and owned by Rod Wellington, Billistic a 2C 8x2 survey has been constructed to meet conditions for both Broome waters and its warm barmy climate.
Launched in June 2003 the vessel has been designed primarily for Sailfishing in light to medium seas. Measuring 40' overall she has a 3.6m beam and 360° walk around configuration with a 5m tower complete with Morse electronic controls etc.
Billistic has been powered by Twin 240HP Yanmar diesels which gives her a top end speed of around 37 knots and cruise speed of 24 this gives her a good balance of speed and economy. The vessel has been propped down so as not to compromise top end speed or stability of the vessel with customers and extra fuel.
The cabin area has heaps of shade and comfortable seating with a fridge freezer for drinks and YES there’s a flushing toilet down stairs. Billistic has been designed as a fishing platform to catch Sailfish and pelagic's a like, where it misses out on gin palace extra's it makes up on with fishability and speed to get to the fishing grounds.
Broome fishing grounds vary in distance depending on the time of year so having a top speed of 37 knots and cruising capabilities around 22 to 24 knots makes the fishing grounds just that little bit closer.
